Hayes & Yeading's pre-season preparations continued Saturday at Creasey Park with Matt Hall heading home a last minute winner for Paul Hughes' side after AFC Dunstable's Taylor Rhiney had cancelled out Elliot Benyon's opener for United.

With the United side slowly taking shape, along with a handful of trialists, this was a good work-out for United who will return to face the same opposition in four weeks’ time in the Emirates FA Cup.

United were off to a quick start and with just 30 seconds played Elliot Benyon threaded the ball forwards to trialist Hassan Jalloh who didn't quite emulate his early goal from midweek, he did however dance past a defender and get a shot away that the home 'keeper pushed around the post.

The home stopper was in action again on six minutes. Dan Spence sprayed the ball across the park to fellow wing-back Toby Little who cut inside and hit a low skiddy shot from 20 yards that the 'keeper pushed back into the path of the on-coming Benyon but with little time to react he fired over.

Jalloh and Benyon almost combined for a goal on 14 minutes, the former's low centre just evading the sliding United striker at the far post.

Minutes later a first strike on target from the home side saw, Ravan Constable, the longest in a string of trialist 'keepers get down low on his post to gather the 20 yard effort confidently.

Just before the half hour mark a cross from the right side was knocked down by Benyon to Ahmed Abdulla who tried his luck from range but his shot drifted wide of the target and the half closed out without further goalmouth incident.

United again started quickly after the break and five minutes in took the lead. Trialist Lyle Della-Verde collected the ball on the right corner of the hosts area before moving inside the curling the ball beyond the 'keepers reach only for it to come back off the post to Benyon who reacted quickly to slot the ball into the empty net.

Two minutes later United almost had a fantastic second. Della-Verde again collected in the box, his initial drive was blocked upwards by a home defender, as the ball dropped the United man connected superbly with an overhead kick that looked to be flying into the top corner before the 'keepers fully stretched right hand tipped the ball over. The resultant corner kick was met by Mitchal Gough but was held by the diving stopper in the OD's goal.

Minutes later United were caught with a quick fire attack down the left and the hosts were level as Taylor Rhiney powered home a header at the near post.

Midway through the second period another opening for the home side saw the ball lofted into the United box with a home striker flicking the ball goalwards but Constable was quick enough to get down and grab the mishit effort.

The final ten minutes saw two chances for United. The first came as Dylan Switters spread the ball wide right to Dean Mason, the wing-back's driven cross was deflected away by a defender in front of goal only for a goal-kick to be awarded thus averting further pressure on the home goal.

The final chance of the game came as the clock hit 90 minutes and it turned out to be a winner for United as Matt Hall rose highest at the far post to head home a Little corner.
